Section 3 – Chilwell Manor Golf Club to Ranson Road
Thank you for your interest in commenting on this scheme. Before proceeding to the survey questions, please take a moment to read a description of the scheme and view the plans.
Proposals are subject to further detailed design and comments received during this consultation will support this.
This section of the proposed scheme will greatly improve the route to Chilwell School. Proposals include:
- Upgrades to the existing segregated facilities between Queens Road West and Attenborough Lane, to create a fully segregated 2-way cycling facility, next to the footway;
- Creation of a new shared use facility between Attenborough Lane and Barratt Lane;
- Planting over 50 new trees and shrubs to replace those that need to be removed; and
- A new toucan crossing northeast of Barratt Lane. This is required because it is not possible to provide a cycle route on the south side of Nottingham Road to the west of Barratt Lane, and in order to continue the route to Ranson Road, it needs to transfer to the northern side.
The proposed scheme will end at Ranson Road and will be located on the south-eastern side of the A6005 Queens Road West.
It is hoped that the improvements will help to alleviate congestion on the main road network and encourage fewer car trips to Attenborough station.
Please ensure your response is submitted by Tuesday 31st May 2022 the replies will be reviewed and fed back to Nottinghamshire County Council, to support the decision-making process.
